Sedation

BackNext

Prior to receiving any medications for the procedure it's important that you tell your doctor about any medical conditions you have or allergies to any medications.

Two types of medications are usually given. One is a sedative to make you drowsy and less anxious. Another is a pain medication, which makes the procedure more comfortable.

These medications are carefully given to avoid low blood pressure and a decreased breathing rate.
