One thing that I would caution against is delaying it because of feelings that I had. Putting it off because of a personal feeling passes up the absolute blessing of having a procedure like this.

No Question. It's something that anyone should do. Discomfort? It isn't that much, it's just an embarrassing personal thing but you realize the benefits far outweigh any discomfort.
